OCVIBE is changing the area around Honda Center and the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, better known as ARTIC. The scale of the project makes it easy to assume that a complete new entertainment district is already operating. That is not yet the case in 2026. Existing venues and transportation facilities remain active, new parking structures are in use, and several major buildings are visibly under construction, but the first coordinated public phase is scheduled to open in early 2027.
For visitors, the distinction matters. You can attend a game, concert or other ticketed event at Honda Center, use ARTIC for rail and bus connections, and visit the existing Grove of Anaheim. You should not arrive expecting the future market hall, public plaza, concert hall, parks, hotels or residential neighborhood to be fully available. Those elements are being delivered in phases.

What Visitors Can Use Now and What Is Still Under Construction
The City of Anaheim describes OCVIBE as a privately financed, multibillion-dollar master-planned development around Honda Center and ARTIC. The current city fact sheet lists entertainment, dining, offices, apartments, hotels, parks, open space and structured parking within the long-term plan. Construction is expected to continue for years, so the district should be understood as an active project area rather than a finished attraction.
Existing Destinations Remain Active During the Build
The most important practical fact is that OCVIBE is being built around places that already receive large crowds. Honda Center continues to host Anaheim Ducks games, concerts and other events. ARTIC continues to function as a transportation hub. The Grove of Anaheim also remains an existing entertainment venue within the broader area.
Honda Center and the Grove Are Operating
Honda Center is open, but the arena itself is also undergoing a phased renovation known as Honda Center Encore. Official venue information says work is continuing through 2027 and may cause temporary changes to parking, entrances, concessions and concourse areas. Event tickets, start times and entry policies should be checked directly with the venue rather than inferred from OCVIBE construction announcements.
Visitors should arrive earlier than they would for a familiar, unchanged venue. A route used during a previous season may no longer lead to the same parking entrance. The Grove of Anaheim is an existing venue, not one of the future OCVIBE openings. Its schedule and admission arrangements remain separate. Check the event organizer and venue listing for the correct entrance, parking instructions and age restrictions before combining it with a Honda Center visit.
ARTIC and New Parking Structures Are Part of the Current Picture
ARTIC sits south of Honda Center and provides access to regional rail, intercity rail and bus connections. It can be useful for travelers approaching Anaheim without driving the entire trip, but the final walk, transfer or event-day connection should be confirmed in advance. Construction conditions may affect the most convenient pedestrian path.
Anaheim’s 2026 project fact sheet reports that the Cerritos Garage and Katella Garage opened in October 2025 with a combined 4,534 spaces. Additional parking construction is part of later work. The presence of new garages does not mean every visitor can choose any garage or that all parking is included. Assignment, price and access can depend on the event and ticket type.
Drivers should follow the parking instructions attached to their event rather than selecting a garage from an old map. Douglass Road is permanently closed between Katella Avenue and Stanley Cup Way, according to Honda Center’s current arena guide. That closure alone is a good reason to avoid relying on an outdated navigation screenshot.
The First Coordinated Public Phase Is Scheduled for 2027
Official OCVIBE information currently points to early 2027 for the first major public opening. The announced phase includes Katella Commons, a public plaza, the new concert hall and office space at The Weave. Opening dates are targets and may change as construction, inspections, tenant preparation and event scheduling progress.
Concert Hall and Katella Commons Are Not Open Yet
The new concert hall is under construction and is currently scheduled to open in March 2027. OCVIBE describes it as a venue with capacity for about 5,000 people. Until an official calendar and ticketed opening are published, visitors should treat it as a future venue rather than something available during a 2026 trip.
Katella Commons is also planned for early 2027. The announced two-story market hall is expected to contain 21 kitchens and six bar or lounge concepts. Chef announcements are useful previews, but they are not proof that a specific counter is open, taking reservations or serving its full menu. Do not build a 2026 itinerary around eating inside the future market hall. Choose an operating restaurant elsewhere in Anaheim and consider Katella Commons a reason to return after the public opening is confirmed. The site’s Orange County food and drink guide can support a backup plan.
The Weave, Public Plaza and Art Program Are Taking Shape
The Weave is a 168,000-square-foot mass-timber office building connected to the future market hall. OCVIBE says flexible-workspace operator Kiln is expected to join the building in 2027. This is commercial office space, not a general sightseeing attraction, so public access may depend on tenants, events and the surrounding plaza.
The first public plaza and the initial phase of the outdoor art program are also expected in early 2027. OCVIBE has announced a longer-term network of 20 acres of open space and three miles of connected trails, but those figures describe the completed vision, not the amount of park space available today. A rendering or promotional image should never be interpreted as evidence that a park is open.
Some exterior artworks are being installed during construction and may become visible from public roads. That does not create permission to enter a work zone, stop on a freeway shoulder or cross construction barriers for photographs. View progress only from legal public areas and follow all posted restrictions.
How to Plan an OCVIBE-Area Visit During Construction
A sensible 2026 trip should be built around an operating destination: a Honda Center event, a Grove performance, a rail connection at ARTIC or another confirmed Anaheim activity. OCVIBE construction can be part of the setting, but it should not be treated as the day’s main walk-in attraction.
Use Current Event Instructions and Treat Future Dates as Provisional
Start with the official event page. Confirm the date, gate time, bag rules, parking assignment and mobile-ticket requirements. Then check the parking map again on the day of travel. Construction information can change faster than general travel articles, and temporary routes may differ by event.
Public transportation may reduce the need to navigate parking, but it does not eliminate planning. Check the final train or bus departure, allow time to reach ARTIC after the event and prepare a backup option if the event runs late. Families and visitors with mobility needs should review current accessibility information before arrival. Honda Center states that accessible parking is available for vehicles displaying a valid plate or placard, with spaces handled on a first-come, first-parked basis. Construction can lengthen walking routes, so ask the venue about drop-off locations or assistance when needed.
OCVIBE plan
The longer-term OCVIBE plan includes hotels, residences, additional parks, plazas, restaurants and walking connections. Anaheim’s 2026 fact sheet places the first hotel, Meadow Park and a bridge over Katella Avenue in a later phase, while apartments, another hotel and additional public space extend beyond that. These are planning milestones, not guaranteed visitor amenities for a specific date.
Before publishing or acting on an opening claim, compare the City of Anaheim OCVIBE page with the official OCVIBE and venue websites. If the sources differ, use the newest project-specific announcement and describe the date as scheduled or expected rather than certain.
OCVIBE is already changing how the Honda Center area looks and functions, but the visitor experience in 2026 is still transitional.
